SALT to SAVOUR not SPOIL

"Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." (Colossians 4:5-6 NIVUK)  A meal without any seasoning at all is pretty tasteless. However, to add too much salt poisons even choice morsels, and is not good for your blood pressure. Just the right balance needs to be attained to enjoy your food to the full. The same is true of the way we speak and act towards folk. Jesus seemed to know just what to say and when to say it. He also understood how to hold His peace. Oh, that I was as skilled as He. I confess that sometimes my life is far too salty, making it unpalatable to those around me, and raising their blood pressure! Lord, help me to be more gracious, and, in so doing, to embody Your love for all more consistently.
