"If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 NIVUK) One of our senior Elders, a man in his late eighties, still regularly quotes something he learned in his youth – "Romans 10 and 9 is a favourite verse of mine; confessing Christ as Lord, I am saved by grace divine. For there the words of promise, in golden letters shine, Romans 10 and 9." It is an old truth, but one worth learning by heart!

My thanks to ‘derekthecleric’ for this piece. I remember learning the verse by the song. Glad that we were created with a computer in our head – song got put into the conscious and then went into the subconscious, brought back up by some ‘memory jogging’ and so glad I learned it as a child at Summer Bible School. Such an affirmation/confirmation of what happens tous when we take the verse in. Blessings
