"Know this, you and all the people of Israel: it is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:10,12 NIVUK) At our birth, we are given names, not numbers. Names have great significance. My Christian name was especially chosen by my grandmother, and my middle name is in memory of my grandfather. I am proud of both, and delighted to carry on the family tradition. Yet, there is one name that trumps all others – Jesus, the Christ. Named by God, He offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who trust in Him – what a family heritage that is!
